Amazon Editorial Review
Jennifer Garner glows like a rising star in 13 Going on 30, a girly version of the Tom Hanks classic Big. Jenna (Garner, Alias, Daredevil), a frustrated teenage girl, just wants to skip past all those annoying adolescent years and arrive at a glamorous adulthood--and thanks to some inexplicable wishing dust, she does. But once she re-orients herself to a life as a high-end magazine editor with a sports-star boyfriend, she discovers that in the 17 years she skipped she became a not-so-nice person, including casting aside her best friend Matt (played as an adult by Mark Ruffalo, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind). There's no question that Jenna will rediscover her lost innocence, but Garner rises above the lack of suspense. 13 Going on 30 floats along, buoyed by her goofy sweetness. Her lovely looks are made accessible by her unfettered silliness; it's a winning combination. --Bret Fetzer

Garner Shines - (3/5)
It was a pleasure to see Jennifer Garner go from Agent Bristow on Alias to this, it was a great change and a move. She clearly had a blast making this movie and I have a blast (with a young sister) watching this movie (though it resides in my collection) ;)
For £3 you cannot go wrong. That's less than half of cinema prices and is worth that to watch the dance sequence alone... as well as how fabulous Andy Serkis is.
As for the special features, the 'I was a teenage geek' is nice to watch and see some HI-larious pictures of the cast as teenagers and with 2 commentary's, there's enough covered for the 13 going on 30 fantastic
Puerile in extremis - (1/5)
Try to park up 99% of your brain cells before watching this.
It is a great insult to our modern society that this type of film is rated as "entertainment".
Isn't it about time films got an IQ rating? This would feature in the "under 50". I beg the film industry to do something that avoids me renting this type of rubbish ever again.
Really good comedy/chick flick! - (5/5)
This is a really good film about a girl who wishes she was "thirty, flirty and thriving" then one day she wakes and she is "thirty, flirty and thriving". But she wants to go back to being 13 after her dreams come true but they do not turn out as she expected.
Another good thing about this film is if you pause it you can learn the dance moves to Michael Jackson's "Thriller".
Funny 80s film - (4/5)
If you like comedy and the 80s with it's music and fashion then you will love it.
13 going on 30 is very funny and enjoyable and filled with references to the 80s as well as songs from the 80s throughout the film.
This film made me laugh and I enjoyed it as well as the music throughout and now I have it on DVD I can watch it when I want.
Lovely - (4/5)
This is a lovely film, really cheerful, a good girly film, and i love to watch it over and over again.
