I bought this to replace a small TV. Very simple to set up and all the digital channels were found (via aerial). The picture looks good, the sound is pretty good for the size of the set.
There is a a bit of a lag when switching on, and when switching between channels - more so than a larger Bravia we have in another room.
Overall a nice product that is good for bedroom/kitchen type locations.

Bought this as a replacement for an old 14" CRT Sony portable for use in the spare bedroom/workroom. I have used Sony TV's exclusively for the past 30 years, as I believe they offer excellent performance and reliability. This is my first LCD TV however, and I find that the viewing angle is critical, just as I had expected. Nevertheless I am still disappointed, and feel that LCD has a long, long way to go to match the picture quality of traditional CRT screens. Having said that, by taking the time to carefully set it up and ensuring that you watch it straight on, the picture is good.
Surprisingly, I felt that the sound quality was much better than I had expected, despite being a keen audiophile and therefore a little more demanding in the area of sound quality. However if you want high fidelity, then you can always hook it up to a decent home surround sound system.
Tuning in all the channels is a very simple affair as it is all automatic, but I was relieved to see that there is a manual tuning facility available, for those of us who like to tinker (as I do) ... in fact for me it was a necessity as I needed to tune in a foreign satellite decoder which the auto-tune was unable to detect.
As a regular Amazon customer, I have come to expect a very competitively priced product and excellent delivery, and yet again I was not disappointed with Amazons service.
Overall, a well-built TV (as you would expect from Sony) and a pretty good picture/sound quality but with the reservations mentioned above. I suspect that future LCD TV's will have a greatly improved picture-viewing angle, or maybe technology will move away from LCD, LED or plasma into totally new areas, giving us even better results on screens that are yet to be invented! I await with bated breath ...

I bought a little know branded 19" tv from a shop only to find that when I hooked it up the sound was unbelievably tinny. We tried to ignore this but after only two days of trying the wife and I had had enough and it had to go back.
Scouring through the internet, researching the numerous brands and models & reviews I seemed to return to those on Sony which were predominantly favourable. I could have kicked myself for not settling with this to begin with as most if not all our other audio & visual goods are Sony anyway.
When I hooked this small tv up, I was astonished by the quality of sound,much richer/fuller than you would expect for it's size, the picture is sharp with true colours and much scope to play with. As it's a bedroom tv we needed a remote control that would be easy to use and this fits the bill perfectly, the buttons are arranged logically and uncluttered but as an only gripe it would have been more preferable if the sleep button was placed on it's own rather than part of a menu with other functions (those who use it as often as me will know what I'm talking about)
I must also add that Amazons service is second to none, I have used them a few times before, the service is always quick, well packaged and the price always more favourable than the high street.

Probably the best TV I have encountered. Very versatile, great control over picture aspect and sound. Recommended for anyone with a taste for the quality end of the market. But what else would one expect from Sony?

I researched the purchase by visiting stores to ensure that the remote control had the same functions as the larger model, the TV had Freeview, that the sound and picture quality were good and that the surround was matt black. Most other models I saw did not meet all these criteria.

We decided to buy from Amazon because there the price represented a significant saving. The item was delivered a day earlier than expected and was in perfect condition. We are delighted with the 19" - the picture and sound are excellent - we have taken the precaution of labelling the remote controls!
